Apple's iOS App Store hits 10 billion downloads, gives away $10,000 gift card
We knew it was coming, but now Apple has announced that a British woman, Gail Davis from Kent, downloaded Paper Glider to take the Cupertino-based company over the 10 billion threshold. That's 10 billion app downloads, in two and a half years, to more than 160 million iDevices worldwide.
A significant milestone indeed, and to celebrate, Apple gave away a $10,000 iTunes Gift card to the lucky Brit. Of course Davis, displaying typical British cynicism, actually hung up on Apple's VP of iTunes, Eddy Cue, when he told her what she'd won the prize, thinking it was a scam call. Classic.
